On May 22, 2022, we held a very successful radio training session in Portola Heights, with multiple learning stations. We had good attendance from multiple neighborhoods including Middleton Tract!
Stations included:
- Copper J-Pole antenna building — Bryan Osborne showed how to build copper J-Poles, which can be tuned for any of the kinds of radio we commonly use.
- HF Station
- Field Day Station
- Morse Code — a very fun and popular station
This hands-on format gives participants practical experience with the radio equipment and techniques used in real emergency communications.
